At this year's BayWISS Annual Colloquium, after a welcoming speech held by Head of Office of the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts, Ministerial Director Stefanie Jacobs, renowned scientist at ETH Zurich, Prof. Renate Schubert will be presenting the keynote speech.
Titled "Nachhaltigkeit und Wirtschaftswachstum – unvereinbar oder aufeinander angewiesen?" (Sustainability and economic growth – incompatible or dependent on each other?), her keynote speech will explore tension and synergies between economic dynamics and ecological responsibility. Prof. Dr. Renate Schubert has substantially contributed to well-founded and differentiated analyses of the interrelations between economic, ecological and social systems. Her research deciphers the complexity of these relations and devises possible pragmatic solutions. In her keynote speech she will illuminate how prosperity and sustainability can be pursued for the long term and what role universities and science play in this context.
