The Bavarian Academic Forum – BayWISS is also deeply troubled by the invasion of Ukraine.

Many of our member universities have partnerships with universities in Ukraine. Many of our professors and doctoral candidates have very close ties to their colleagues affected by the war – whether by research projects, exchange programmes or on a personal level.

Some are already conducting research on topics which are of central significance in this conflict, for instance, Professor Ralf Hohlfeld from the Joint Academic Partnership Communication and Media, who commented in the Digital Research Magazine of the University of Passau on fake news and Ukraine:
