The University of Music and Theatre Munich (HMTM) is one of the most important and diverse establishments for professional education in music, dance and theatre within Europe. More than 1,300 students from more than 60 nations are prepared for various artistic, educational and scientific professions in roughly 100 different courses of study at five locations in the heart of the international cultural metropolis Munich. The degree programmes range from all types of instruments and singing to educational music, jazz and folk music, from ballet to directing and arts management. Intense research focussing on areas such as music and dictatorship, musical education, artificial intelligence in the cultural sector, music psychology or audiovisual media, courses on artistic research as well as doctoral degrees in three degree programmes round off the HMTM's profile.
