Profile
The Lutheran University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg (EVHN) provides degree courses in the fields of social sciences, social and health economics, health, and nursing, as well as education and theology. It is oriented towards an educational concept, for which the Christian image of man is the central basis. In addition to the scientific foundation of teaching, research, continuing education and training, supplementary topics of a spiritual, character-building, and general educational nature are therefore offered. As a complement to their professional and academic qualifications, students are encouraged to critically reflect on their own person in the workplace and society and to assume responsibility.
The university in the central metropolis of Nuremberg has a modest size with over 1500 students; small learning groups facilitate personal interaction between students and teachers. As a state recognised university of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria, it cooperates with prestigious institutions from industry and other universities in Germany and abroad. The degree course is open to everyone, regardless of denomination and ideology.
