The University of Television and Film Munich (HFF Munich) was founded in 1966, with classes starting in 1967 – in 2017, the HFF Munich celebrated its 50-year anniversary. Since 2011, it has been located in the Kunstareal München at Bernd-Eichinger-Platz. The university offers the following study programmes: feature film and television feature or documentary (with optional specialization in editing), production and media business, screenplay and moving image production (with optional specialization in VFX). Among many others, Maren Ade, Caroline Link and Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck were students at the HFF Munich.
